AGMA is always eager to introduce a different spectrum of musical ideas to all of our many supporters and musicians. We sincerely hope that this publication will give you much pleasure with interesting articles about modern composers and their piano works, covering a wide range of global cultures and piano styles.

After much research, we are thrilled to present talented music authors and their compositions from different parts of the world including China, Russia, Bulgaria and from the UK. Apart from featuring solo piano works, there are presentations of piano ensembles – duets for four hands suitable for pianists at all levels, such as Rosamund Conrad’s Delightfully Easy Piano Duets, Zhanetta Metallidi’s Beloved Tales and A Breeze from Bulgaria by Nikolai Aleksiev. The interview with pianist-composer Vladimir Titovis also of note, andthe articleExploring Early Pianos reveals the fascinating history behind this instrument.

There is also an introduction to many piano course books for early level (Get Set Piano! by Heather Hammond & Karen Marshall) and advanced pianists including jazz styles presented by Tim Richards, as well as articles offering advice and help to performers.

In addition, we recommend reading an enlightening and pedagogical study on memorisation written by renowned British piano composer Melanie Spanswick, whose new opus Simply Driven and other piano courses books (Play it Again PIANO) are featuring in this publication.

On the topic on musician’s health, there are the brilliantly evocative writings of the late Carola Grindea, The Phenomenon of ‘Peak Experience’ or ‘The Flow’ in Musical Performancean article published in EPTA and ISSTIP journals a few years ago but still relevant today.
